 Rio Blake is a mixed heritage creative, of Caribbean and Irish decent,  born and living in London. Specialising in documentary and portrait photography, Rio’s work reflects real culture, and people, in a cinematic, intimate style. 

Rio was appointed as the first Youth Trustee by The Photographers Gallery, in 2018. In the same year, her photography work also gained attention from Sky Arts TV. Leading to Blake's first commissioned project, exploring multicultural British identity in the wake of the Brexit referendum.  The Sky Arts 50 exhibition was showcased in The Barbican, The BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art and Sage Gateshead; Alongside a televised broadcast on Sky Arts. 

In 2021, Blake directed, curated and hosted an immersive group photography exhibition, entitled ‘An Ode To Notting Hill Carnival’ which was on display at White City House and included works from the likes of Martin Parr. The exhibit was praised by multiple publications, including TimeOut, Dazed and It's Nice That; Alongside this, the sale of works raised over £2500 for The Grenfell Foundation. The exhibit was noticed by M&C Saatchi and re-presented the following year in partnership with the London Heritage Network. 

Rio has worked in various photography roles and her experience within the field is broad.
